Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity, so-called VUCA, is a long-used concept in business management to describe an uncertain and unpredictable operating environment.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic and an increasingly unpredictable world made even VUCA seem like an insufficient descriptor. Thus, a new acronym emerged: BANI. 

Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible – BANI – update the previous concept by adding emotion and humane experience on individual and community levels. 

In the midst of crises in the world, how can leadership strengthen the operational capacity of organizations? What kind of trends in the world has become visible throughout the crises? And how to build resilience for both individuals and organizations in an uncertain environment?
