The COVID-19 Reshaping the Future of Work – What are the New Rules and the New Normal?

Event Information

Date: Tuesday October 27, 2020
Time: 9:00–10:00 am (UTC+3)
Location: Online

Join a free Aalto Leaders' Insight webinar to discuss the opportunities and challenges, the pandemic introduced to our working lives, and the way forward in the post-pandemic world of work together with Hertta Vuorenmaa, Research Program Director of Aalto University Future of Work Program, and Juha Äkräs, Executive in Residence in Aalto University and Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Hintsa Performance.

The webinar will focus on the following questions:

  • What have we learned about the crisis, following on from the pandemic – reflections and research findings from the last 6 months?
  • What does the new normal, including hybrid and distant work look like – what are the implications for thinking about work and leadership?
  • How should both the future of work and the COVID-19 crisis impact on the strategic leadership and thinking about people management?

The pandemic has effected all sectors on a global scale. Even the deepest crisis appears to be over, we all have to navigate back to a “new normal” without really knowing what it entails, or should entail. Simultaneously, we are dealing with a growingly complex and heterogenous situation in terms of peoples’ work and personal life contexts.

This is a challenge for all organizations and leaders. Organizations need to manage and secure both the acute day-to-day operations and the long-term goals, strategically. The crisis is likely to have a long-term impact far beyond the pandemic, re-shaping the future of work locally and universally.

Managing crisis and transforming organization at the same time is not easy. Balancing the necessity of new ways of thinking about work and trying to be innovative, whilst identifying new opportunities, i.e. new forms of business, revenue, and ways of working, is a challenge.

However, this will also give us direction, purpose, new energy and enthusiasm, in the midst, and beyond, the crisis. HR/People management leaders have a crucial role in leading the new ways of thinking and strategizing, as well as taking action, to ensure future success of their organization and people.

The webinar is free of charge. We will share the webinar recording after the event with all registrees.

Register for the webinar by October 26, 2020. You will get instructions on how to join the webinar in a separate email.
