Aalto University Executive Education Group’s operating profit for last year reached a record-breaking EUR 1.5 million (EUR 0.4 million 2015). The profit improvement was due to growing demand and the successful completion of adjustment measures continued from 2014.
In 2016, the company also strengthened its Asian operations in particular. The main regional office in Singapore was moved to new premises and the first permanent campus office was opened. Operations were also expanded to Vietnam. In particular, customized business operations and Aalto PRO training for highly qualified experts gained ground in the European markets. A range of new services were enabled by international partners in Finland, elsewhere in Europe and Asia.
Consolidated turnover rose from the previous year to EUR 19.3 million (EUR 17.1 million in 2015). Globally, the Group provided a total of around 90 customized programs. Almost 6,000 people participated in degree programs and shorter, open enrollment and customized programs last year.
Over EUR 2.6 million was channeled into the Aalto University community
The Group's overall economic impact on the Aalto University community continued to grow. Aalto EE's operations channeled a total of over EUR 2.6 million (EUR 2.2 million in 2015) into the Aalto University community by way of dividends, lecture fees and rent.
“We are proud of our contribution to strengthening Aalto University’s capabilities. Although we operate on a fully commercial basis, I have noted that many of our customers appreciate the fact that cooperation with us supports the activities of Aalto,” comments Dr. Pekka Mattila, Group Managing Director.
Aalto's rise among the international top rank continues
In the Financial Times' annual global ranking – the most prestigious of its kind in the world – Aalto EE rose to number 45 (47 in 2015) among business schools offering executive education, to become the only Finnish provider in the world's top 0.5 percent.
