Teleste Chooses Aalto EE as Its Partner for Developing Teleste’s Unified Leadership Model – the Virtual Platform Yields Multiple Benefits

Teleste, a Finnish global technology company, and Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) are working together to build a strong leadership culture for Teleste.

Teleste's leadership is guided by the newly defined management principles based on Teleste's values. The entire organization participated in defining these principles. In co-operation with Aalto EE, the management principles are now being put into practice through a targeted training program for Teleste's management and supervisors, so that management and managerial work are as uniform as possible.

“The program strongly supports Teleste's manager community in value-based management and develops the skills needed to implement the strategy. The program's shared virtual platform increases the effectiveness of the program," says Virve Hintikka, Business Area Director for Customized Solutions, Aalto EE.

“Together with our personnel, we have defined six basic principles of leadership that we hope will be reflected in the day-to-day behavior of all our managers and thus support the building of a strong, shared leadership culture. Implementing these principles throughout our organization is one of the key goals of the training program,” says Tuomas Vanne, Teleste's Senior Vice President, People & Competences. He continues, “We have found that by investing in leadership and management, we support all aspects of our human resources strategy: processes, employee experience, and the development of leadership skills.  Excellent day to day management of teams, based on our leadership principles supports the well-being and commitment of our personnel. As one of the results of the program, we grow our managers' toolkit to help them lead both Teleste's skilled professionals and themselves.”

The underlying idea of the current program is a collaborative model involving Teleste's manager community, offering new perspectives based on academic research that are applied in practice in value-based management.

In addition to learning on actual training days, the program utilizes learning outside of them. Sparring in pairs and Aalto EE's other signature methods are used, such as echo teams, which ensure the development and expansion of the learning. Participants have also made videos related to the company’s values, which will be shared through the learning platform with other participants.
