The Aalto EMBA in Security and Risk Management has been designed in close cooperation with representatives from industry and public authorities. The program modules are prepared and presented by a world-class faculty from Aalto University and renowned business schools and universities across the world. Presentations and assignments encourage participants to link the academic input on the latest theories with their professional experience, and to reflect upon their own views and practices. Up to six modules can be taken at other Aalto EE locations in Europe, the Middle East, or Asia. Students in the Aalto Executive MBA in Security and Risk Management program in Helsinki also benefit from the elective module offering from our partner schools’ EMBA programs at ESADE in Barcelona and Madrid in Spain, Gothenburg University School of Executive Education in Sweden, and the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University in Russia.

Contents and Schedule
To fulfill the requirements for the Aalto Executive MBA in Security and Risk Management degree, participants must successfully complete studies worth a total of 90 European credits (EC). These include eleven core modules (47.5 EC in total), two compulsory projects (the Business Strategy Project worth 11 EC and the Self Development Process worth 4.5 EC), and elective modules worth a total of 27 EC (typically, one elective module is equivalent to 4.5 EC).
The Aalto EMBA in Security and Risk Management Program starts in April 2018 and can be completed in 21 months. The program has a modular structure and follows a six-week learning cycle.
Modules are typically run once a month with in-class sessions on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 or 9:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 8:30 to 16:00. Each module contains a pre-assignment and a take-home or in-class exam.

Outline Your Personal Learning Goals during the Orientation and Capstone Module
The Orientation module introduces students to the EMBA studies and learning process and provides an overview of modern security and risk management. Students familiarize themselves with security scenarios which will be analyzed and elaborated throughout the program. The objective is to understand the nature of comprehensive security and its implications for strategies and management in organizations.
The Capstone module offers a recap of the most valuable learnings from the Aalto EMBA in Security and Risk Management core modules as experienced by the students. It also puts the learnings to test in the form of scenarios that participants construct during the program.
Turn Insight into Action during the Business Strategy Project
The Aalto EMBA in Security and Risk Management program includes a Business Strategy Project (BSP) carried out in a team with the final aim of developing an analytical solution or tool for a concrete strategic problem faced by a company. The project aims to utilize the insights gained during the program, with project groups organized to maximize use of the individual competencies of their members. Skilled academic tutors from Aalto University help the teams develop an update on the state-of-the-art in academic research related to the project topic.

The Self Development Process (SDP) is a fundamental part of the program; it supports you in the process of personal development as a leader and as an individual throughout your studies and way beyond. It includes self-steered studying and peer coaching, as well as facilitated group meetings and one-to-one coaching with the support of a professional coach.
Experience True Internationality at the Aalto Executive Summits
The annual Aalto Executive Summit brings together Aalto EMBA participants and alumni from all the locations – Djakarta, Helsinki, Poznan, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Tehran. During the Summit, you will complete one elective while enjoying a unique opportunity to meet business leaders and network with EMBA participants. The location alternates between Helsinki and Singapore.

Although optional, international Study Tours are an important part of the Aalto Executive MBA in Security and Risk Management program. An EMBA Study Tour is designed to offer in-depth understanding of the local business environment and typically involves a five-day study period abroad.

Aalto Executive MBA in Poznan
The Aalto Executive MBA is delivered in Poznan, Poland through our partner, the Poznan School of Banking. This cooperation provides Polish managers with access to a high-quality, intensive and internationally recognized Executive MBA program within their country. All the Aalto EMBA modules are taught in Poznan, some in Polish, some in English.
Aalto Executive MBA in Seoul
The Aalto Executive MBA is delivered in Seoul (South Korea) through a joint venture between the Aalto University School of Business and the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies. The aim is to offer a high-quality, intensive and internationally oriented development program for the managers of Korean companies.
Participants in Korea usually take 21 modules of which 18 are taught in Seoul and 3 in Helsinki. They also have the option of negotiating to take modules in Singapore or Poznan.
Aalto Executive MBA in Singapore
The Aalto Executive MBA in Singapore is delivered by Aalto Executive Education Academy Pte Ltd – Aalto EE's hub in Singapore. The program offers the opportunity for Aalto EMBA participants to continue or complement their studies in Singapore. Similarly, if you start in Singapore, you can negotiate to take some Aalto EMBA modules in Helsinki, Seoul or Poznan.
Aalto Executive MBA in Taipei
The Aalto Executive MBA in Taipei (Taiwan) is delivered in a fully facilitated education hub through a partnership with Pan Asia International Education Center. The Program consists of 12 mandarin and six simultaneously interpreted English modules. Aalto Executive MBA participants may choose to join in the English modules that are taught by our Aalto professors and visiting faculty.
Aalto Executive MBA in Tehran
The Aalto Executive MBA in Tehran (Iran) is delivered in a cooperation between Aalto EE and the Iranian Business School. All the program modules are taught in English, most of them in Tehran. The program welcomes Aalto EMBA students from different Aalto EMBA locations.
