Business Decision-making and Influencing
Business Decision-making and Influencing is a three-day module of the Aalto Financial Executive Program and it can also be taken as a Stand-alone program.
Finance professionals are expected increasingly to give support for business decision-making as well as be an influential partner for business development. The program will provide you insight into financial and non-financial tools to improve business decision making as well as enhance your personal influencing.
By joining the program you will have an opportunity to strengthen your role as a business partner and support for management’s decision-making. You will gain confidence to influence and learn new ways to communicate.
The Program is targeted for financial executives and professionals who want to learn approaches to support business decision-making as well as gain enhancement in personal influencing skills.

Business Decision-making and Influencing, September 25–27, 2019
This module provides tools to improve business decision making and develops participants’ skills in influencing. Participants will learn to critically assess the pre-assumptions and accounting treatment of investments, gain insights into behavioral economics and value-based pricing, and become more confident in influencing.

Jari Melgin serves a Professor of Practice at Aalto University School of Business. He specializes in accounting, finance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations and corporate governance.
Professor Melgin has broad consulting experience in Financial Management, Corporate Finance, and Investments. He has also a long professional experience as a CFO in several international corporations.
Dr. Katja Kolehmainen serves as a Senior Advisor at Finnish Ministry of Finance. She specializes in strategic financial management, forecasting, scenario analysis, and investment decision making.
Dr. Kolehmainen is also Vice Chairman of Board Partners Helsinki, an association that works with small and medium sized companies to improve the quality of board work.
Before joining the ministry, she worked as a Director for Capful Ltd., a strategy consultancy company specializing in scenario planning and strategic foresight, an Assistant Professor for Strategic Management Accounting at Aalto University, and a Director for strategic planning at If and Vattenfall.
Ben Nothnagel is an expert in self-development and applied neuro-science and has been a member of Aalto EE’s faculty for many years. His concepts of applied neuro-science have also been incorporated into the leadership development programs of many global corporations. Nothnagel is an Attorney at Law, as well as an MBTI Certified Interpreter, Certified Emotional Intelligence practitioner, Certified SDI Conflict Management practitioner, and a Big Five Personality assessor. He has extensive consulting experience from working with companies such as Daimler, Nordea, Finnair, Michelin, GE, HP, Yahoo, Vaisala, Cargotec, and Danfoss to name but a few.
Program Fee and Registration
The fee for the Business Decision-making and Influencing program is € 3,590 (+ VAT).
(Please note that the program fee does not include travel expenses or accommodation. VAT is applicable to private persons and Finnish companies.)
